It’s 70 years old and works like a charm, but Bill Ard’s 1949 Dodge Coronet looks like a beater car.
When asked if he was in the beginning stages of restoring the beastly looking family sedan, he gave a compelling reason to keep the rust-ridden vehicle running as-is.
“I really don’t want to restore it,” Ard said. “It’ll lose its story. Look at it; something has to have happened to this car. I found it, all the chrome that was off of it, was in the trunk.”
Ard showed the car Sunday afternoon at the 50th Annual Devereaux-Kaiser Car Meet, which was rescheduled because of inclement weather in January.
