My ‘93 Golf CL

My 1993 Volkswagen Golf CL 2 Door.

It has the 1.8 8V N/A engine A.K.A the Toilet Bowl Motor! It’s a 5 speed, has crank windows, manual locks, no safety features and is a blast to rip around in haha!

Bought this car in October of 2018 when I was 16! Was my first car :) I have always had a passion for VW’s as both my parents had them when I was growing up. So when it was time to hunt for my first car I knew it had to be a VW. Not just any VW though, I had a particular liking for the older VW’s. While my dream first VW would have been a MK1 Rabbit, that is definitely not the ideal first car where I live with our winters, not to mention the insurance costs that car would be for someone my age. Due to this I knew I had to go newer. I started looking for a MK3, as it’s that perfect mix of classic VW with a little bit of newer characteristics. When I saw this ‘93 Golf pop up I knew it was the one! From the condition of the car, to the low milage I knew it was something I had to have! I messaged the seller just 40 mins after the ad was posted, and set up a time to see the car 2 days later. I went and checked it out, and ended up buying and bringing it home that very night! Was the best thing I have ever purchased! Not only was it my first car which was exciting enough, but this car has also made me so many new and amazing friends, both in the VW community and at car shows. The plan for this car is to keep it as long as I can, so hopefully forever! I have lots of plans for it, including a 2.5 swap, and hopefully painting it back to it’s original colour one day, Turkish Green, as the previous owner painted it grey. I love the grey but the original colour is much more unique and very uncommon. Some mods on the car include, 90s 16x7 TSW Stealth’s, Custom Cat back exhaust, GTI tails, GTI Sport Plaids, Resprayed Grey, etc! Anyway that wraps up a little summary on my MK3 :)
