Sound Dampening the Tiguan
Compliments of DT EXP @ www.vwvortex.com
So the other weekend I spent laying down sound dampening for the TIGAll my stuff came from http://www.RAAMaudio.com
RAAMmat BXT II x 1
Ensoliteâ„¢ MLC x 2
One can of V&S Spray Adhesive
Triple Square bit
Torx bit
Trim Removal Kit
One Set of gloves
You will need one Torx, and one triple square that is the same size as a T40 Torx bit. My triple square set doesn't have sizes listed on them, but from eyeballing them, it is the same size or very close to the T40.
Tips: Much easier to work with the RAAMmat BXT II if you cut them down to 5x10 squares IMO
I started with the Trunk:
This were the Torx's and Triple Square come into play
Red= Torx
Blue= Triple Square
Yellow- REMEMBER to leave the hole open for the spare tire. The Red arrow at the top points to a torx not pictured. This Torx is screwed into a clip, Be careful that this clip doesn't pop out b.c then when putting everything back together that Torx will have nothing to screw into.
This is the Trunk Completed with colors codes
Just starting
Floor of Trunk... Remember the Hole... I didn't
Time to bust out the Trim on all the doors.. this is straight forward like any other VW out there. All doors off and no broken clips! Thanks Dave!
Hatch!

HU is Stock along with my speakers. The Stock speakers sound much better with less of that boom. Road noise is much less. I added about 40 lbs of weight to my TIG. Took about 6 hours from start to finish.
Well worth the 6 hours...
