DIY...Rear Break change...W/out Vag-com
Compliments of Har8 @ vwvortex.com

Alright so instead of buying the Vag-com software or taking the car to the stealership i decided to do it on my own...
It came out to be simpler than i thought..
Just use the proper tools and you will be fine....
I did not have the intention of making this DIY but realized i should take pictures when everything was out already...so sorry for not having more detailed pictures from beginning to end
Here is how its done
Step 1) Put the car on the jacks and take out the tires(Obvious)
Step 2) Remove the sensor from behind the E-brake motor
Step 3) Take a T30 alen such as in the picture below and unsrew the two bolts that are holding the E-brake motor...
Take out the motor and put it aside...dont play with it.
Step 4) Take T40 alen and do as shown in picture 2
I forgot exactly which way you need to turn but as you are turning it spin the rotor to see if it is tightening it or loosening it....Loosen it all the way...do not force it...If the alen stops spinning then leave it and proceed to the next step
Step 5) take a size 13 ranch or socket ranch, unscrew and take out the top bolt on the caliper
once you take that bolt out the caliper can easily be pushed down...
Step 6) Remove the break pads
Step 7) I do not have a clue what this tool is called but use this or a similar tool to push the piston back
Step 8) Put the new break pads on and screw the top bolt back on the caliper tight
Step 9) get the T40 alen and repeat step 4 except this time tighten it...after you tighten it try to spin the rotor and slowly unscrew untill your rotor can spin inside the caliper
Step 10) Now it is time for the E-brake motor to go back in...put the motor back and make sure it goes in properly...It has to sit on it flat before you put the screws back...If there is a gap in between the caliper and the motor then do NOT tighten the screws...You will break it...If it sits on it flat then proceed to putting the two bolts back with the T30 alen.
Step 11) Put back the sensor
Step 12) Put back the tire and go tap on the break pedal few times untill it gets tight...Once this is done turn the car on and turn the E-brake on and off few times untill you can feel that it is working properly...It should work fine if you followed the instructions properly.
Step 13) Give yourself a pad in the back for accomplishing this project and go for a spin...
I know this DIY is not the best one out here but for now it is a start for the people that do not have Vag-com.
