Got back to work on this thing today.

Blasted some parts.

Welding my coil over sleeve ring

painted w/Por 15

Stripped half the floors although There really doesn't seem to be anything beyond rust stains on the floor. Oh well, one of those things that If I don't do, I'll wish I had.

Coilovers assembled. Turns out I welded the stop ring too low so I added a riser that seats inside the sleeve on the recommended stop which is probably better any way.

With the ring mounted too low the spring and perch assembly doesn't touch the upper stut bearing even at full coil up. This isn't a problem once the weight of the car is on it but I wanted positive contact under full droop at the highest setting at least. I'll still have the same problem once I coil down. A longer spring would solve the problem. Any one else have this problem with their sleeve coil overs?

Also, the Koni Sports don't seem any shorter than the stock struts. I thought they were supposed to be shorter.

On to the pics

More work on the front bumper today.

Mocked up some over riders made from a license plate surround off a 1956 Cadillac.
