Alright, I've ripped out all that nonsense from the engine compartment, and likewise from the interior. Damn that's a lot of stuff that I'm not going to need. I originally was worried about the increased weight of the electric motor. Now I'm worried that it's not heavy enough to weigh down the car. When I roll it out this weekend I'll take some shots of the front end, sittin' like a hi-roller, yo.
So, anything you don't see in the car right now is up for sale, minus the dashboard itself and the radio. I've got a for sale thread going that I'll update soon. Y'all better hurry up. I already got rid of the front alternator pulley, and a buddy is buying the gas tank and fuel pump to put in the bed of his S-10. dunno Guess he just doesn't want to go through the hassle of taking out the old tank to replace the pump.
I took the bumper off for convenience, and cut the mangled pieces away. I might have to extend the front end of the car a little bit, since the motor is longer than the engine was. Or I can machine new endbells, but our lathes aren't big enough, and I don't really want to try to get the CNC mill running. We'll see. I've always wanted to learn how to fiberglass, so maybe a new fiberglass hood and some fender extensions are in order.
Next up: That crossmember that connects the lower control arms and holds the engine mounts is now in the way of the electric motor. So, I'm going to weld in a sister beam underneath and cut a notch in the top.
Also, I finally got into the trunk. All I had to do was get the valet key copied onto a master blank. :ugh!: At least now I can start cutting out the trunk floor for my battery box.
