Here's what I think I was supposed to do, anybody care to confirm? This is the 3D Base Ignition map.

Here are a few engine porn shots. I spent a ton of time on this and I am really proud of how it looks.

Just a quick update guys. I now have 350 trouble-free miles on the car! I got the knock issue ironed out last week with some help form Phil and its been smooth sailing ever since. Beyond an exhaust leak between my down-pipe and the mid-pipe my car is pretty perfect.
I am planning on tearing the exhaust apart and re-assembling it this weekend. The only other thing on my list is to re-work part of my meth setup. After taking to Phil, I know exactly whats wrong with that too. I dont want to jinks my self but things seem to be going pretty well.

In other news, my car is still working pretty well. It rolled 500 miles on the motor the other day and 26,000 on the chassis.
Thus far, the only issues that I have had were an exhaust clunk and a strange noise up front. Both were easily fixed; I moved one of the EWG dump tubes so that it wouldn't hit the bulkhead and I installed a new hardened exhaust hanger in the center of the exhaust.
n other news, I purchased a trailer late last year and we finally had a chance to transport a car to a tune date yesterday. This picture is of my friend Jeremy's Dodge truck pulling his WRX on the trailer yesterday. I am not sure why but I think there's something sexy about pulling a high performance car on a trailer.
After getting stranded so many times in DC last year (Element is 5 hours from my house) I decided that this was simply a necessary expense. I also plan on using it for track days and other misc events so I am sure it will be well used.

I have about 600 miles on the motor so far and things seem to be going well. My tune date is May 18th which is less than two weeks. I still have to put my meth system back together between now and then but thats about it.
I other news, I finally fixed the electronics issues with my meth system. You guys may recall me posting this pict from New Years Eve:
My original high speed meth valve wasn't looking too good so I ordered a replacement. Unfortunately I discovered that the new style valves are not compatible with the Hydramist v8. I didn't figure this out immediately and I struggled off and on for months trying figure out what was going on. It took an email from Phil @ Element to get things straitened out which is what I should have done from the very beginning.
I spent a few hours today swapping the terminals out on the original valve above and reverting the wiring back to the way I had it last year. When all was said and done the kit worked perfectly and I couldn't be happier.

Well folks, it looks like the party is over. The car started smoking form the tail pipe at startup tonight and I quickly diagnosed it as fuel smoke. I pulled the plugs and the passenger side look perfect but the drivers side show that there's a major issue. The drivers side is super rich and the passenger side is lean. What could cause something like this? Here's a pict of my passenger side plugs:
I am not 100% sure. When I drive the car on the interstate the WBO2 is right on target in the 13s and 14s. I was told that the car smoked just ever so slightly as I gently pulled away from a guy in a parking lot the other day after an hour long drive.
I can say for sure that the car SEEMS to be much leaner after its been driven verses letting it idle for 10 min.
When I first discovered the issue I was upset to the point where I couldn't work on the car. After all the crap I have been through I just cant believe I am staring the problem cycle all over again.
To answer your questions; No, I did not compression test the car but I suppose that's in my immediate future.
I am pretty sure that its not a fuel distribution issue because the feed path is so simple. On the other hand, it could be a fuel return issue which is the only reasonable thing that I can think of. I am not sure how but I suppose its possible that the fuel return line coming off of the drivers side fuel rail got pinched somewhere under the air conditioning or alternator.
I a pretty sure that its not a tuning related issue. Here's a list of the ideas running through my mind:
-Pinched fuel return line from the drivers side rail
-Debris stuck in both of those injectors
-Electrical issue causing problems with both of those coil packs
-Some kind of issue with the cams/head/valves on that side
-Timing belt issue
Nice!
