I wouldn't say it's impossible but the slave while in the bracket does not sit flush with the bell housing, it's about a little less than an 1/8 inch out. You would probably have to shorten the slaves push rod slightly or use a spacer. Keep in mind that I did this blind with the tranny in the car, so I am speculating. You would definitely have to remove the transmission to attempt this as there is no space. And the time and effort involved to do this I don't think would offset the $200 bucks for the bracket. But it might be worth it if you have the time and energy

The spring I order was supposed to replace a different model as well, it works fine, but if they came out with another new model spring I'd use it. The only difference I saw between the oem spring and the gt2's was the spring was a different color, other than that it looked the same. As far as pentosin I went with the fluid recommend by Porsche chf 11s, it's what came out so best to put the same back in. I used just over a liter and bought it at lordco (autoparts store in Canada). As far as the dot4 I used prestone synthetic dot4 about 4 liters worth as I flushed the system many many times to make sure I fully got all the old pentosin out before I made the final connections. It's relatively cheap and you can always return what you don't use. JUST MAKE SURE you flush the system well. You don't want to do this twice.
Here's my update, had the system on now for a while, driving around in heavy traffic everyday and it is so much better. I really wouldn't say it's any heavier just way more direct. You can feel the contact point and you actually look like you can drive a stick instead of the oem inconsistent feel. Well worth the time and not expensive at all if you do it this way Hope this helps
