Pontiac Fiero Shifter Boot Replacement
This is a pretty standard replacement that applies to all Fieros (84-88) with manual transmission. I had an aftermarket center console, but I’ll explain the procedure for the stock center console as well. First thing is to remove your shifter knob.
On the stock center console there are retaining screws located under the ash trays on both driver and passenger side. Once removed you will be able to lift up the shifter console. On my application my unit was all one piece. Once you have the console out
remove the retaining screws from the underside holding the shifter boot in place and remove your old shifter boot.
Install your new leather shifter boot from Redline Goods in reverse order.
Admire your work and enjoy your new leather shifter boot. The automatic transmission shifter boot is a different cut, but the removal and installation procedure is the same for Fiero owners with the stock center console and automatic transmission.
Pontiac Fiero E-Brake Boot Replacement
This is a pretty standard replacement that applies to all Fieros (84-88). First remove the interior panels on the driver’s side to access the old e-brake boot.
Mine have had some wear so I had to add additional screws to keep the trim panels in place. Most Fiero owners can get away with removing the front trim panel only that goes around the e-brake.
Hopefully your panel is not damaged like the above photo.
Once the old boot is removed install the new leather boot from Redline Goods in the reverse order.
When installing your new e-brake boot ensure you don’t accidentally disconnect the lead for your e-brake light. It will be a little snug going on, but as will all leather good will adjust over time. Enjoy!
