More good news. I pushed the car harder on the way home, and had a gentle drive in again today. I haven't seen a wisp of smoke since that initial test drive. I'm about to consider this issue resolved. All it cost me was some skin and a few grams of carb cleaner. Way better than new turbos

It's encouraging to know its possible to return to 'normal'. I guess its something to look forward to. Our daughter was 3 months as of yesterday. While it feels like she just joined the family; it also feels like forever ago that she was born thanks to everything that's happened since then. We're doing our best to enjoy every moment.

I had another moment this morning and took a picture so I could show all of my friends without kids what this is like.

In case this isn't clear; these are whole coffee beans in a reusable K-cup

I don't think this is the case. It really is common amongst modified vehicles; I don't mind the look usually, but its not for me. Partially because I don't have the budget for paint/bodywork, partially because I'm OK with the somewhat dated factory bumper. It's a bit retro and it works. I embrace the fact that its a 30 year old car with 30 year old styling.

Your comments got me thinking about what I do like about the Z32. Ignoring everything drivetrain related, my favorite characteristic is the cockpit and driving position.

Very much like the MKIV Supra and other imports of this time; all controls are at the driver's fingertips. The controls give great tactile feedback also, each button has about 2mm of movement and is gently sprung, but provides an affirming click when fully depressed. It's unlike any other autmotive interface I've experienced.

To the left of the wheel from top to bottom: rear defog, cruise enable, driving lights, dash illumination, and exterior illumination. On the steering wheel are the actual cruise controls

To the right of the wheel from top to bottom (left to right): Auto climate enable, front defog, HVAC temp set, HAVC controls (off, econ, recirc), fan speed controls (high/low), and front/rear wiper controls. I've deleted my rear wiper so it's non-functioning.

As you can see all of the indicator and warning lights are easily visible on either side of the driver with their sweet 80's Knight Rider-esqe styling.

The HVAC system doesn't have a user adjustable mode door. The front defroster sends everything out the top of the dash, and heat/AC comes through the footwell, doors, and dash center. This can be annoying at times; but I've lived with it given that its usually driven with the tops off. There's also nothing I can do about it.

Between the seats are the damper controls, mirror positioning controls, and mirror heaters

8 way power adjustable drivers seat. Front/Back, seat up down, back support up down, and back support tilt. The back support features adjustable lumbar and bolsters. I love the leaned back driving position and the seats are supremely comfortable. Hour long drives melt away (provided cruise control is operational). The passenger seat slides front to back, with adjustable bolsters, lumbar, and tilt

The interior is in fantastic shape; regardless of how old the car is. There is some very minor wear in the tweed on the center console, and obviously the seats need to be recovered; but the dash vinyl, button silkscreening, electronics, and carpets have held up tremendously. The seats are really the only embarrassment and I'm dying to have them recovered.

Unsurprisingly the passenger seat has fared better but is starting to let go. I really dig the 'pod' for each passenger between the high riding center console.

Spacious and clean hatch

I thought cargo space would suffer with the addition of the box in the hatch; but I haven't had a reason to remove it yet due to lack of space. These did come with a retractable cargo cover which was missing when I purchased the vehicle. Z1 makes a nice replacement; but I don't think its something that would serve much purpose given the near future use of the vehicle. I'd rather get new seats.
