In this video I start to rebuild the roof of the 240 sx. It is a reimagining of the car in a shorter lower form.

In this video I chop up the back roof section of the 240, which is actually the rear door of a Subaru legacy station wagon. I test fit the roof to see how it will look at the angle and to see how much i need to chop it to get the roof line I want.
In this video I finalize the height of the back of the roof on the 240sx chop top custom roof project. I make some sheet metal panels. For a more thorough explanation of the project, I bought the 240sx stripped down and in need of a restoration. It was a convertible. Nissan built the car as a coupé and it was modified by a company in the USA to be a convertible. The process was in my opinion awful. The welds were poor quality, The seals were gummy and leaky and the car developed rust from moisture invasion even though it is from the dry climate of new Mexico. So the only thing to do was cut out all the rust and build a new hardtop. This is the video diary of that process.
in this video I widen the rear roof top and chop the pillars to make the roof low and wide. These videos take a lot of time. If you like them and want to see me do more and better things please support the channel. You can find me on patreon and PayPal
Thanks. My goal with all the cars is to apply old techniques from the Classic hot rod era to more modern cars.
