no worries mate...the red jet conversion is to replace the wax stat on the bottom of the carb.
as the name suggests, the wax stat contains a small piece of wax that melts when the engine warms up, this causes the needle to move and lean off the fuel to the carb and thus giving better fuel consumption.
the red jet conversion is just a fixed version of the wax stat so it can be set up much easier on a rolling road and allows for easier tuning of the engine but it decreases fuel efficiency slightly.
i got this from min-its but it is available from mini spares and mini sport although the mini spares product does not come with the little bracket required but it can be brought separately.

plus the red jet conversion is cheaper than a new wax stat as mine was broken and bodged (the pipe had snapped and been forced on so it was leaking slightly and a leaky fuel pipe is bad directly above the exhaust manifold )
hope this clears it up for you

i only really get to work on Cliff at the week ends as i am pretty much flat out with work for sixth form during the week...
my dad has been steadily working on my doors at work this week and i'm getting some primer on my boot, bonnet and doors this week end (as long as the rain holds off ) so there will be some more updates then...
i'm going to Bingley hall Sunday so i'll post up some pics of the goodies i pick up, my shopping list is:
- front panel
- wings
- A panels
- lower rear quarter repair panels
- front rear subframe mounts
- standard special arch and sill kit
and anything else that takes my fancy whilst i'm there
oh, i got this the other day...
battery cut off switch
so that's it for now any way
Cheers for the interest in my project, it's nice to have encouraging feedback from others
Wow this is amazing!
