i started flatting my boot and bonnet down today, i only managed to get the boot done though and i forgot to take photos and it's too dark now
i'll probably start on the bonnet next weekend so i'll get some pics up then...
i'll take some pics of my boot lid this week at some point

right, as promised...here is the stage my boot lid got to over the weekend, i have sanded it and flatted it down.
before
after
but i realised that one side of the boot lid has a different curvature to the other and when i flatted it down and removed the purple paint, i found etch primer which was covering filler
i found that the person who had filled in the dent in the boot lid had used too much filler so after some more elbow grease i managed to remove the access filler and retain the proper shape.
on the plus side, the boot lid has no rust at all

hello again, this week end i got cracking with the rubbing down.
yesterday i noticed a shiny patch on the back of my boot lid that needed going over again, it didn't surprise me as this is the first time i have EVER done ANY body work.
so i finished that off and then started on my bonnet. today i finished it off as well as the number plate light housing and one of my wing mirrors...
replacement bonnet (from a piccadily) before
replacement bonnet after
replacement number plate housing
original drivers side (off side) wing mirror
this week my dad stripped the original drivers door down at work and put the hinges and lock onto my re-skinned doors which are ironically from another cherry red thirty . we bolted it onto Cliff yesterday to check the alignment and it's a very good fit for a show bargain. my dad is going to do the same with the passenger side (near side) door this week and I'll offer that up next Saturday and start flatting them down...we're going to Bingley Hall Sunday so there won't be that much progress but hopefully I'll get a front end panel set and a few other bits and pieces.
Wow this is amazing!
