Just a quick update for those that are interested.
I have just ordered all the necessary things to get the Mini painted -
5L of 2K Deep Black Gloss
Hardener, thinners etc
5L clear coat
Spray Gun
The list goes on
Anyway once this all turns up she will be getting painted.
Hopefully it will be this year.

Here is the update as promised.
First of all, rather than just putting the frame back up we put it up then i welded it together as last time it kept taking its self apart in the wind -

And we put heavy duty plastic on the roof for added protection.

All the paint and other bits arrived -

Got the inline air filter on the gun ( Very important ) -

Posted Image

And then there was nothing for it but to start painting.
I decided to do the boot and the bonnet first -

Right im back with another update. I hope everyone had a good Christmas.
There haven't been any recent updates as the weather just hasn't been right.

Pictures -
Got the dribbles on the bonnet sanded back and ready for another coat -

Posted Image

Then got both Bonnet and Boot finished and inside to avoid getting damaged -

Posted Image

Posted Image

Then got the doors out ready to paint -

Posted Image

Came back to a lovely finish ruined because somehow water had gotten on them whilst drying -

Posted Image

Both doors were flatted back and water mark removed -

Posted Image

Posted Image

After much deliberation i decided that i would be spraying on a clear coat -

Posted Image

Then on the second attempt i had the finished product with no water marks or dribbles
I am very happy with the finish -

If the weather holds out i will be starting on the shell tomorrow :D I am very excited
I will probably spray the roof first and go from there.
I would love to hear all your comments as its taken a lot of work to get to this stage.

I am chuffed to bits, I really don't want to sound big headed but it looks professional. I couldn't be happier

I also brought the doors inside to keep them safe -

That's it for today, I strongly doubt that i will do any painting tomorrow as the forecast is not looking good.
As usual id love to hear your comments
