I brought the car home Saturday and parked it for the weekend. I have another friend (LoudmouthLS1) that also bought one of these AEM EMS for his 106mm turbo build. So he is following along and got me a better base tune from a guy on yellowbullet (Collinsautomotive). Today, I finally got a chance to load that tune in the car. It was alot closer than where I was IMO. It was a little fat but I tweaked it right out. Was able to do some driving around and make some wholesale adjustments to the VE table.

Any tips for quickly tuning the table by myself? Trying to do it a cell at a time is a major PITA. From what I was able to piece together from my conversation with the AEM guy, in order for them to add CAN (to work the gages) they dropped the automapping feature. Not sure if there is a way to turn off the O2 feedback, go drive and log % error and then lay them over the existing ve table. Once it's real close, then turn the correction back on and it should be dead nuts.

I am not real familiar with all the idle tables yet but I need to figure them out. Because I am running a completely manual automatic transmission (TH350), the car wants to deliver the same amount of air via the IAC whether in park or neutral. I am tuning the idle in gear as that is when it requires the most air. When I go to park, idle surges up to 1500+. Not seeing a table for IAC % vs over/underspeed error. Maybe it's called something else? Anyway, she runs and drives so I'm back into it again.

Well I got the idle all figured out and it's rock solid. O2 correction works like a champ at 0% TPS. Unfortunately, i can't find the setting that is keeping it from working at 1% +. I've got the car driveable but not raceable so far. The shitty thing is that I have the new fuel tank, and access to a set of 160# high imp inj and a 3 bar MAP. So once I get done tuning it this way, I'll have to retune it all over again. I just wanted to use all the stuff that I had just to keep the variables down.

At this point, I'm just trying to get it to stay ON all the time.

It's only working at 0% TPS (idle and decel). As soon as the TPS goes to 1%, it stops correcting. There is a threshold that I am crossing. The 0% TPS puts it in Idle feeback but it is never meeting the condition to enter normal closed loop operation. Not sure if it wants a speed input or something. I havent messed with getting the speedo working yet. We are using a wheel speed sensor from the ABS but the wires might be backwards as the changes that I am making to that section are having no effect.

Yes. No. Thanks!

Just to give an update on the AEM EMS install. I ended up sending a copy of the tune and a log to AEM. It turns out that the O2 FB problem was being caused by a "noisy" TPS signal. For whatever reason, my TPS voltage jumps around a bit. This was triggering the ACCEL FUEL dTPS setting and causing the O2 FB to stay in a CLEARED status. They suggested that I raise this value until the problem went away. I finally got it to not false trigger at 50% from the 10% that was the default setting.

I have since had the opportunity to do some driveability tuning and (once in gear) it is running like a champ. Next I have to start working on the modifier tables in order to address the warm start load transition of going from P/N into gear. Not sure if I am even going to screw with WOT yet as I need to switch to a 3 bar map sensor and upgrade my injectors in order to support E85 and just more boost in general.

MagnaFuel pump bit it today. I suspect it had an issue all along. My buddy Jeremy had a 4302 for his truck that is currently down so he threw it on for me. I think it was causing me tuning gremlins for a while.
