Having a bad day....
Ok for starters, I purchased a carb from another member of the board (no names mentioned). I went to install this carb today, But due to a real shabby pack job before shipping to me it arrived a little banged up. Some of the linkage needed some tweaking and i thought it was ok until i noticed that the dual feed line was also mangled pretty bad.
Once the carb was set on the manifold it was hitting a vac. port for my brake booster. So off to the store for a new fuel feed and a plug for the vac port. Once the plug was installed i noticed the carb mounting studs were to short to mount my cable bracket, back to the store for some longer studs. Ok now the carb is finally mounted.
Next up i went to install a new Be Cool Radiator which is supposed to be a direct fit (my a$$) There isnt anything close to being a direct fit.My hood will not even close without hitting. I will now have to modify my core support to make this radiator work. And being the car is painted and all together this work will have to take place with the core support on the car. After cooling off about the radiator i moved onto my pypes exhaust system. I have it hanging under the car for a test fit and so far so good. Hopefully will get it finished tommorrow. Hopefully better luck will be on my side tommorrow.

Wednesdays update...
Ok for starters i needed to find a pair of u-joints for my drive shaft. I wanted the driveshaft in the car to fit the exhaust syatem. Once the u-joints were installed the shaft was sanded and painted. After it dried i began to install it in the car. HOUSTON WE HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM!!! I swapped rear ends with my 79 donor and the pinion flanges are different from 73 to 79. So off on another road trip to borrow a few tools to switch out the flange. Once that hurdle was passed I focused my attention to fitting and installing my new exaust system. The only welds on this exhaust system is where the front pipe meets the header reducer, the rest is clamped with stainles 3" flanged band clamps and 2 sets of rear hangers.
Once all of the clamps were tightened these pipes are there to stay, very stout. I was able to tuck it very tight to the underside of the car, Infact there may be one or two places where I might need to bring it down a hair.
All in all I'm very pleased with this 3" Pypes Violator setup. The only area of concern is the tail pipes come a little close to the fuel and vent lines comming out of the fuel tank. But iT should be ok. Its hard to take pics of the underside laying on the ground but here you go.
Looks like my R/S muffler needs a little adjusting, I will get that tommorrow.

All day Radiator install
For starters I have a couple of issues, first the new radiator is to tall and wider then the factory core, second i have a repop core support that has been nothing but trouble. This was how i corrected the problem. The lower portion where the rad sits needed a little work with my BFH and a block of wood, the raised edges at the ends of the support were ground flat.
Using some tin foil i made 2 templates for my lower cushions. The cushions were then riveted to the lower support. The cushions were made from some heavy duty rubber from an old conveyor belt.
Still needing the radiator to sit lower I ground off parts of the bottom lip on the core.
I wanted to secure the bottom of the core from moving, So i fabbed up 2 stainless brackets that would attach to the two small holes on the bottom fin of the core. Two rubber cushions were cut to seperate the 2 metals. These same screws will also be used to secure my lower shroud.
Once I had it put together and did not have any fit issues it was taken back apart everything cleaned or painted and put back together. The 2 outer bolts on the top plate were not put in because there are no nuts welded to bottom side of this crappy core support. I will pick up a few J nuts to finish bolting this down.
And i was able to hook up my temporary guages that will be used for break in of my motor.
Great cars so cool back then. I believe about $3,600 at the time?
