some more progress..

First I cut out and welded two patches in the lower section of my drivers door. I used a piece of copper tubing held in place with a cleco fastner to help hold my patch in place for welding. Once tacked i removed the copper tube and completed the weld and cleaned it up.

Then I flipped over the door to fill all of the LT mldg holes, because i will not be putting them back on the car. Once welded they were ground smooth. I noticed that the factory undercoat inside the door was lifting in a few spots. After heating the undercoat i scraped as much as i could reach off and vacumed the inside of the door. I picked up the door with my cherry picker and wiped it down with wax and grease remover, and epoxy primed it. Once its good and dry i will get a friend to give me a hand to bolt it back to the car to check my outer rocker panel gaps. If all is good i will weld in the outer rocker.

Great cars so cool back then. I believe about $3,600 at the time?
