My centering pins came in on friday for my spot weld cutter, With a new pin installed in the cutter i went back to drilling welds removing the front and rear sections of the outer rocker panel. While removing the rear section where it ties into the outer wheel house i found rags stuffed in a rot hole so someone could bondo the lower section of the outer skirt. And i thought this side of the car needed less work than the R/S did... WRONG  So now i need to buy both sides rear outer skirts, a drivers side floor pan, I will wait to order these until i get the quaters opened up for the 1/4 skins to see if the drop offs are bad too. After drilling what seemed to be a hundred welds i finally removed the front and rear sections of my outer rocker panel.
Then i cut out a rusty section of the lower door hinge pillar.

After grinding all of the spotwelds flat i began fitting the new outer rocker. I probably spent a good hour bending and tweaking to get the rocker to fit half way decent. It may need a few more minor adjustments before it can be welded in place.

I sand blasted inside the driver side cowl and behind the door hinge pillar to remove any surface rust. Then spent quite awhile cleaning up the sand...
Not one of my favorite things to do. After a quick beer break to wash some of the sand down lol i finished stripping the paint from the cowl, door hinge pillar, inner rocker and on the rear door striker pillar.

I also managed to get a little paint on a couple of the interior parts.

Had to close up shop early due to a BBQ at a friends house so i cleaned up and covered the car until Sunday. Today I need to get epoxy primer on all of the bare metal from yesterday becuase there calling for alot of rain tonight and all day tommorrow.

Great cars so cool back then. I believe about $3,600 at the time?
