I was able to take the 1976 BMW 2002 out for Auto X this past weekend. I literally drove the car for the first time on Saturday . . . in auto X. Anyways here are some videos from the 2002 and my friends E21 with an m20 swap. ooo and yes the driver seat in the 2002 is sitting really low so I can fit in it with a helmet. : P

So the 2002 did not make all the runs on the second day of autoX. Because everything is breaking in and stretching, the driver side motor mount actually came loose and the motor jumped out, but set back down on the opposite side of the mount. That would be an easy fix, but because of the mechanical linkage to the carb, it actually ripped apart all of the linkages. I am going to fix it after the tow home to jersey.

Pretty much got the tail section of the car together wire wise.

I have gotten a lot working today : )

I have turn signals and no it is not legal yet I just had a plate laying around to mock the car up with. I took the old heavy metal mounting bracket off of the metal 555mph bumper and I mounted it a little lower. It will work for now until I get the lower air dam installed.

I got:
-All the lights on the car to work including turn signals (pain in the ass because of corrosion) tail lights brake lights etc everything but reverse lights because the harness didnt come with any. ... . o well haha.

Also fixed up the exhaust and the parking brake works!!!

so I am just waiting on the insurance card, then I am going to transfer the title into my dads name (better rates under his policy) and then get plates and go for inspection!!!!! I can not wait it will be road "legal" haha

Soooo.

-I got insurance
-I transferred the title to my dad to save over $1000
-I got plates for it!!!!
-I went for inspection(that was interesting)
So I went to the DMV trying to get a free inspection and it didnt go over well. They kept insisting that the car came with a cat from the factory and well it didnt and so they tested it as a car that is supposed to have a cat and it failed miserably. . . .twice in a row. Basically the spec it was testing to 300ppm of hydrocarbons and was testing at 7000 ppm of HC lovely.
-So I left the inspection station and this happened:

The driver side motor mount ripped in half Ireland Engineering is replacing it for free with a new style.

Got her home swapped in a factory mount for the time being and drove around and brought her to work with me and then on teh way home this happened.

woooo!!! haha

: (

It sits right under the shifter between the drive shaft and output shaft on the trans. It can do a lot of damage if you do not catch it quick because of how close it sits to everything. It only messed with my shifter and well destroyed itself and the bolts holding it together.
