I haven't updated this thread in a while. Nothing to report really. Just being a dad. I do drive my YJ to work most everyday. I've been blasting my working A/C since it's enclosed. Been pretty nice. Some punch list items I need to do:
-Finish my anti-wrap bar
-Figure out my speedo and why it sometimes works
-Get a 34 tooth speedometer gear for the new 35's (assuming I fix the speedo)
That's about it. My long term plan is to get a D44 front axle but I've yet to find one. Then again, I haven't looked to hard. I also want an ARB for the rear 8.8 so I'll be keeping an eye out for a compressor to mount under the hood.

Another thing I wanted to ask about is tire pressure. I have new 35" KM2's and I used the chalk method to hone the pressure for full contact. I'm at 26 psi now but the inner 1/2" of the tires are not getting contact. Should I go lower? This pic is not the best but may be helpful.
Sort of an update. My buddy and his family came up to see my family. He also brought some goodies for sale.
So, I need to get a sleeve to weld into the frame for the new gas tank and skid. I also need to decide if I'm going to replace my stock fuel pump or get a new one while it's out. Then, I could mount the ARB pump but it's only good for activating lockers not filling up tires. So, when ever I get that rear ARB I can hook it up.
Here's a picture of the jeep. I'm just driving it now.

I changed my oil and pulled a plug. It looked well used so I replaced them with Champions. I was in a hurry and didn't check the gap, which I should, especially because they did not have the cardboard tube on the threaded ends.
I don't remember when I last replaced them so I thought it would be a good idea.
I also bought a new fuel pump gasket for the eventual gas tank swap.

I took my front driveshaft out because it had a slight amount of play in both u-joints and slip joint. I think I may get a new one from Tom Wood and keep this as a spare. I changed suspension which extended the length 1.5". Not a lot but a decent amount.

Sending this thing back to Tom Wood. It will be lengthened and maybe new u-joints. I also want to get rid of the boot.

Well, I started replacing my pics on this thread. I've gotten to post #7...ugh.
As for jeep stuff, my front driveshaft is at Tom Wood's facility and they should be calling me tomorrow for modifications. I also took the driver's side tire off because I heard noises that only someone really paranoid about their jeep would hear. Anyway, I took the tire of and then the caliper and pads. I turned the rotor and I think the unit bearing is starting to wear. I'll remove it this week and see what's happening. I tried to think of the last time I replaced the unit bearings...so I searched my thread and found I replaced the passenger side in 2012 but not the drivers side. That means the one I didn't replace is probably 10 years old, maybe.
Also, ssyj94 is sending me his sleeve and bolts for his Genright tank. He didn't use them and I need some. Huge thanks to him and the good folks on JF.
Finally, my pads are less than 1/4" thick. Anyone think I should replace them? I want to get some Centric rotors and decent pads. My calipers are Autozone specials that are rusted because I never painted them.

Trying to track down a noise in the rear but still unsure. I did find my rear u-bolts needed tightening and my rear calipers are loose but it's just the caliper on the guide pins. I noticed in don't have the abutment clips so I'll need to get some. I also think I need clips for the front. The pads are leaving indentions in the bracket. I also got my drivers side wheel bearing off and confirmed it was bad.

Well, I replaced the hub bearing with a new Timken. I also put new guide pin boots on the front drivers caliper and abutment clips on my 8.8 because they were missing and the pads were starting to wear into the bracket. I tried to find some for the D30 but no luck.

I bought a pitman arm puller, steering wheel lock plate tool, and a 5/8" drill bit for upcoming projects. Those are:
-Grind out keys on Waggy pitman arm and re-clock. Hopefully my drag link will extend far enough to center my steering wheel.
-Pull steering wheel and try to figure out why the right turn signal is still hard to lock in.
-Drop gas tank and instal Genright aluminum tank.
I still need to finish my traction bar too.

Oh yeah, got my front driveshaft back yesterday and installed it. I went with the dust boot over the rubber boot

Got my gas tank out, 30 minutes later.

Well, I found out my fuel pump sending unit is different than most YJ's. It has a large Bosch pump and the assembly is too big to sit in the Genright tank. So, I did not end up installing the new tank. Instead, I cleaned up my sending unit, replaced the gasket with new, and swapped the vents and grommets from the Genright to my stock tank. I plan to keep the Genright until my fuel pump dies. Then I'll buy a new unit and put the Genright in. Pics below.

I pulled the trigger on a new gauge cluster on eBay. It was $50. I've been trying to find one locally but to no avail. My speedometer is about done and I've changed the sensor. My guess is the speedometer itself is having issues because if I tap the cover it will sometimes start working. I've taken it out several times to fix but no longer.
Nice build!
