Got the tie rod flipped for the SOA. I also had to take my diff guard off since it interferes with the tie rod.
I screwed up my spring plate for the 1" stretch but I may just open the hole up.

I'm thinking about a Solid cover. It may interfere with the flipped tie rod but I'll grind it down if I have to. I'm getting closer. I plan on picking up some u-bolts tomorrow and burning in the perches. After that, put the shock mounts on and measure for shocks. I bought another spring perch for the drivers side but I don't have the ambition to replace it now. I really just want to get it rolling again.

Got the axle mocked up.
Burned in the perches.

Shock mounts are on.
Other side. Ran out of paint.

My ritual for putting the jeep back on the road is a test drive to Chick-fail-a for a sweet tea.

It's getting there and I really like the M8274. If anyone needs some shocks let me know.
Little high in the front.

Put some longer booms in the back that my buddy gave me.
The jeep is back together again. I need bigger tires.

I'm working on the leveling thing. I got some longer shocks from my best friend and a fellow JF'er has some stock shackles I can put in the front. It won't be exactly level but close enough for me.
Well I drove the jeep last week some. It had a rubbing sounds from the brakes and I thought it was the bearings because it didn't go away when I hit the brakes, only when I slowed down. I finally looked at both wheels and noticed the dust shield was bent and rubbing the rotors. I bent them back and all seems OK. I also put gas in it for the first time in 6 months. I tossed in some Mystery Marvel Oil in the gas. I'll probably put 8 oz. in the tank the next couple fill-ups.

Jeep is driving great so far. I can't wait to take it to Uwharrie in a couple weekends.

Well I have been enjoying the jeep with the A/C but I finally fixed the tailpipe I cut of back in November at Gulches.
How it is was.
How it is.

I think I'm ready for a North Carolina safety inspection. I will be the first time I've ever had to get one. Put the LED bolt lights in.

Well I went to Uwharrie this past Sunday with my wife and it was an OK trip. I did run into a few problems though. About 15 minutes on the interstate my A/C compressor locked up. I can't say I'm surprised given its age and the fact that it use to pump R-12. Anyway, I'll get a new compressor and drier off RockAuto and get it filled up. I imagine I'll need the system flushed though prior to installing the new stuff. I also did not put bumpstops on before the trip so my front springs are inverted. I'm not surprised but I may put the stock rears in the front and the bumps and see how that goes.
Does JF have SOA spring recommendations?
Another angle.

Let's try this again...tomorrow. Going to a beer festival today.
Nice build!
