I also got a new drill.

I figured the best way to finish a project is to start. So I started to chop the upper front shock mounts off. I also removed the shocks and front driveshaft.
I didn't get very far.
I also got some awesome beer with my wife at a brewery in Durham, NC.
Well I am going to keep cutting the mounts off then put the jeep in the garage and continue working in there. I plan to do the rear first then make my way to the front. I don't have any parts yet, just the springs but I plan on getting the WFO hoops for the front and perches for the D30 and MAYBE reuse the 8.8 perches if I can. I also need to figure out the steering. Not the geometry but the tie rod and drag link mounting. I need to flip the tie rod back underneath the knuckle and flip the drag link back to the top of the knuckle. I have goferit inserts in the Teraflex knuckle but the stock on is just reamed out. I'm thinking about drilling out the drivers knuckle and putting a goferit insert in that and just flipping the other two.

Got the drivers side cleaned up. I chopped the shock mount off the pass. side but it still needs clean up. Once I'm done with that I plan to back the jeep in the garage and take the 8.8 out and start working on the springs.

Got some work done yesterday. The D30 perches are on the way as well as some Revolver shackles from Anticaman. I'm going to see how the front looks with the back SUA.
Working on it.
I found a good use for the pipe wrench.
The perches on the D30 are a PITA to chop off.

Thanks guys. Got the new perches in today. They are monstrous. I'll need to chop them down shorter as I don't think the front will have wrap issues.

Got my springs put together. I had to chop the ends of my lift springs to put into the stock pack. I need to order a pair of Dana 30 spring perches because the ones I have so not work with the cast housing. I can chop the ones I bought and weld them back but that's a big hassle.
Closer pics.

Progress yesterday. Instead of buying new D30 perches, I modified the ones I bought. I guess I'm just cheap.
A few more. I used a 2x6 as a spacer and to keep the plates parallel. It actually worked great.
I should have the front axle mocked under the jeep next week but we'll see. I'm going to be studying hardcore for the PE exam in April so jeep time may be limited.
Finished products.
Nice build!
