Most definitely. An Atlas is in the distant future for me if I ever get to that level. I would much rather build a D300 if I could find one.

In other news, I got my AX-15 external slave parts in the mail (thanks StanF). I also got my Beck Arnley thermal switch for my Taurus fan. I currently have a Hayden probe and adjustable thermostat to control the low speed. The high speed is run off a switch in the dash. This thermal switch will control both the high and low speed and will thread into a Saab hose adapter that I plan to put inline on the upper radiator hose.

I also called the PORC rep about my true neutral plate I ordered nearly 4 weeks ago. He checked and didn't think it actually shipped so he got one out yesterday. Should be here tomorrow or Saturday. Lucky me the weather should be warming up too. :highfive:

Oky doky. I started tearing into the jeep this past Sunday and worked on it last night as well.

Finally got my true neutral plate in the mail.

Got the t-case and the AX-15 out.

I then separated the bellhousing. It was fairly nasty but nothing out of the ordinary.

Here is the transmission setup for me to take the front bearing retainer plate off.

Off.

Here is a shot of the pilot bearing. It's actually in better shape than I remember.

Here is a shot of the clutch disc. This clutch is a kit from Autozone and has a lifetime warranty so I may take it back and try to swap it out. That will give me a fresh clutch disc and pressure plate. I bought an external slave cylinder and master on ebay thinking I can make it work with my existing hose but I may just buy a new slave/master kit.

I was also able to tear into the t-case. I found the yoke nut on the rear output was not very tight. I will probably put the t-case back together first. It's fairly simple at this point.

I haven't made much more progress on the jeep but I did go get some parts. I actually replaced the clutch back in August of 2004 and bought the kit from Autozone with a lifetime warranty. It took a little while to find the warranty information but the guys at the Zone were great. Anyway, I got a brand new clutch kit that included (2) pilot bearings so one has to fit. I also bought a throwout bearing for a '95 YJ with a lifetime warranty and a new seal for the input shaft of the AX-15.

By the way, does anyone need a brand new internal slave/hydraulic throwout bearing?

Got the new front plate on the AX-15. I also cleaned the external slave bellhousing and man was it sludgy. The t-case is back together and ready.

I need to put a new tailpipe on the exhaust so I may do that before I put the drivetrain back in since I have so much room right now.

A couple of pics. I couldn't find anything to use to install my AX-15 input shaft oil seal. Finally, I noticed my 8.8 spider gears in a small box doing nothing. Fit perfect.

I also chopped my Flowmaster off so I can put my new tailpipe in. I took it to a shop a year or so ago and they didn't do that good of a job now that I am looking at it.

Well I'm waiting on my spring for the clutch fork. Per FedEx it will be here this Saturday...ugh. Here is where I'm at and a comparison of where I was.

So, I decided to tackle the exhaust. I bought the new tailpipe so now I needed to install it.

I bought a hanger off of eBay for the rear, same as the one the exhaust shop put on before I ripped it off.

On the new tailpipe I had to cut the rear hanger rod off the pipe because it wasn't lining up too well. I moved it back maybe 2 inches and angled it properly.

I also prepped the Flowmaster by pulling the old pipe out of the ends. I was about to use the pipe expander I borrowed from Autozone but found it was too big. I need to go get the smaller one. Once I expand the pipes between the converter and the Flowmaster I can burn in the tailpipe. I may just put a clamp between the cat and the Flowmaster just so I remove each part separately.

I also picked up some plugs out of a GC t-case so I can get rid of the larger ones on mine.
