Haven't done very much with the jeep. I had the transfer case and all of its parts pulled from the shelf. I laid all it out then did nothing with it. I remember ordering bearing for it a while back. Going to see about replacing them and start re assembly
I also picked up another free boat motor. This one is 20yrs newer then the last one and twice the horse power.
I do have the bottom end for it. Apparently it was winterized, then a couple years later when they went to use it again, it wouldn't budge.
You could still see the cross hatching on the walls. You can also see the rust where the pistons are seized to them.
Sprayed it down with penetrating fluid and filled them with atf yesterday. Gonna try and spin it tomorrow at work.

I've got a good start on cleaning the garage before winter. I have a few more things to toss out still. I've had my transfer case set out in the bench along with all of its parts far way too long. I remember ordering a gasket kit and some bearings for it a while back. I know the shifter mechanism is already together so it's just getting the internals back in there and assembled.
I remember reading years ago about swapping a front CV yoke from a Cherokee transfer case (possibly a np242?) into the rear output if the Dana 300.
Does that ring a bell to anyone?

So the 9.9 is completely stripped down. Looks pretty salvageable. Bearing are toast from moisture buildup causing rust. Bearing surfaces look great on the crank. Cylinders should hone out well. Bottom end gears all look good, same deal with the bearings down there. Rings aren't even stuck in the pistons and they actually pulled rite out of the cylinders. Didn't get alot of pics taken of all the disassembly.
I didn't really expect to see needle bearings on the crank like that for the rod bearings.

So a while back in the thread I put together a gm coil with a gm hei module and wired it up to work with my distributor.
I'm using a dodge 360 in the jeep and I'm wondering when it's all together what would be a good spark plug gap for this set up.
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks
