cut out the big hunk of brass

and filled in the hole with some sheetmetal 

the top was pretty rough where they shaved the reveal where the tab comes through for the top 

so i made up a new piece

after some welding and filing i am pretty pleased with it 

well this is how i made the reveal for the top tab 

really nothing fancy and reallly close to looking stock 

cut it put it in the vice to straighten it out and tacked it together

after it was tigged in 

alot of work in this little area to get it back to looking right
