today I spent HOURS scrapping the tar/sound deadening off of the front floor pans. i stabbed my self many times during this process.
turns out the floor pans will need replacing
when my dad got back from work, we set about removing the rear subframe
rusty valance closures
the subframe mounts need repairing as they are fairly rusty and some bolts snapped
the boot floor and rear arches are fairly solid for a mini from this year as they were prone to rust really bad.
(note are professional and perfectly safe trolley )
3RD SEPTEMBER 2011
today me and my dad started to strip out the engine bay, we couldn't get a hoist into the garage as it wouldn't fit down the sides of CLIFF, so we decided to remove all the pipes and cables from the engine and lift the mini off of the sub frame.
inner wings are repairable
the bulk head is solid apart from master cylinder/top stabiliser bracket which needs replacing and there are some small holes beneath this plate.
i also finished stripping out the dash, the rest of the interior, steering rack and pinion
over the past few weeks, my dad has been reconditioning the parts at work.
fuel tank had slight surface rust.
