small update today...
i finally managed to source the tiny twist rivets for the engine number plate...i couldn't find them any where ! ! and a spot weld remover drill bit
i got a book about the history of the mini
i got a mini thirty key ring
and i got a mini thirty pillow as well
i might get the thirty gear stick as well but i like the shape and ergonomics of the original metro style one though...sorry for the A level product design moment there
Cheers for any feed back, it's great to get people's opinions on my progress

my uncle gave me a small speaker system today, it's from an old JBL power range, they have never been used or opened before and my uncle brought them a few years ago to put in his car but never did...so he gave them to me
two 5 1/4 inch and two 6 1/2 inch speakers
all four speakers have a mesh cover
my uncle also has a usb CD/DVD radio for me as well so i now have a fairly substantial DIY ICE system...thanks uncle Jay
comments always welcome

small update, my dad just picked up some cherry red paint, on his way home from work, for the underside of cliff
i am moving cliff to my dad's mate's workshop either Wednesday or Thursday next week and then we start the welding mission Saturday
wish me luck

today we got cliff ready to be moved to the unit later this week, we:
- removed the wing mounted aerial
- removed the horn
- removed the locking bonnet catch ( i will be modifying this for use as internal bonnet release )
- removed the fresh air vent pipes from under the wings
- removed the seem covers
my dad has also made up new fuel and brake lines and cleaned up the old battery cable as we forgot that i already have a new one
we also pot-riveted on my engine number plate to my shiny, reconditioned engine that has been hiding under a blanket in the garage
i then set to work drilling out all the spot welds that need removing
o/s wing
n/s wing ( for some reason there wasn't any spot welds that we could see )
o/s front panel lower fixing
n/s front panel lower fixing
scuttle
we then tidied up the loose loom wires that are still in the car so that they are out of the way when we start grinding, cutting and welding next week.
Wow this is amazing!
