Will has the block in the machine shop down in North Carolina, in order to facilitate the Block Prep & Spa treatment. Rotating, flywheel and clutch assemblys are all there as well for balancing. Meanwhile back on this side of town, I began working on the water pump for my Meziere conversion. I'll post this proceedure, as it kind of baffled me at first.
Remove the water pump cover of its screws and expose the impeller, then with a punch and hammer, knock the impeller shaft from the front, or face of the water pump towards the rear (block side).
After a few nice blows, the shaft drops completely out of the rear of the water pump housing and you can remove the impeller from the front opening.
And the pump shaft and bearing assembly come out nice and easy.
Next, turn the water pump over and with the punch and hammer, knock out the seal from the rear of the pump housing.
Once the pump is all disassembled, these are the parts that you no longer need for the E-pump install, with the exception of the cover which is not shown on this picture.
Now the pump housing is ready to be shipped off for powder coat.
