well getting closer to painting the engine bay and we are really tryign to decide on the color scheme for the truck here is a pick of what we are leaning towards what do you guys think and feel free to post pics of other color schemes that you think would look good on a 40s pickup

*** this is a long shot but if anyone knows where i can find more pictures of this truck or any more info on this truck in the picture please share as there are a few things with this truck i would like to know thanks.

Well its been awhile since i last posted progress on the truck so i figured i would do a little update. here are some pics as you can see we have moved over to the body and finished disassembling the truck and then we stripped the paint then we soda blasted the cab and fixed the bad spots and shot it with epoxy primer then we moved to the box and found so much filler and rot that we decide to get a new box from pro'spicks which we had them flatten the tops while maintaining original height we got the back and assembled and mounted back on the frame to our liking. we then proceed in closing of the back by bending up some steel to get a smooth welded tailgate and followed the top edge around the top of that. Now we need to finish the front panel of the box( when the box is back off the truck) and make a roll pan for this we will french in the tag and make "halfmoons" for our exhaust outlets. we also need to dolly out the line in the rear fenders and french the tail lights in them as you can see where that was being mocked up to get a hole cut

and a couple of more pics

here is a quick drawing of what the back will look like when finished

well we are trying to get it done for this summer and its nice when the truck was given to us so not have to spend 5-10k just to get the car makes it alittle easier to spend haha... also our grandfather/dad is 91 and we want to make sure he get to drive it and lay a nice patch of rubber with it
