here are some HD vids that i just uploaded ( same runs as above )
second test run :
first round of eliminations ( no stall ) :
death to tranny :
and here are better pics of the trans :
on to updates ;
i tore into the front of the car last night , i too k the nose off , which found to be ripped slightly on the bottom on both sides of the grill ( due to the nose getting squished in at speed - need to barce it ), and then i proceeded to remove the blower and gear drive ,,,, when i found a little surprise : the bolts holding the coupler tot he balancer had shared off (i'm assuming a long time ago given the ratteling noise i was hearing ) in the balancer and i was lucky that they shared halfway in , so i still had something the drive the coupler !
well after a few hours trying to get the broken bolts out i finally succeeded , and with almost no damage to the hub !
the good news is the new crosslinked polymer bushings (the black ones ) look like they just came out of their box
so moving on , i plan on redoing the mess known as my front brake lines
here's a before pic :
and soon i'll have the after one
so the plan is to do he following :
- remove the bashed up torque arm cross member and install a new one ( on the way )
- remove the front brake lines and redo them properly
- replace the aluminum fuel cell with a new plastic one i just got in
- relocate the accusump thingy to inside the car instead of in front ( free up some space )
- i'm thinking of cutting the area infront of the front wheel wells to free up some space - see why below
- i might relocate the radiator to infront of the wheelwell and have it horizontal instead of where it is now so i can regain the area next to the gear drive
- i have to redo the front brace so that it incorporates the headlight brackets , nose brackets , hood pins, and bottom of the nose supports
- i might ,,, just might replace the front coilovers to the AFCO ones i have sitting here , but it depends on how i feel
this should keep my hands full for some time , ithe list goes on and on but i'll post that stuff as i finish the above .
