not much to report other than the torque arm is off the car and at the powdercoaters.
some time back i remebered that i didn't have a driveshaft loop any more , so i looked around and found somethings i thought i could use. so i ordered a bmr bolt in shaft loop, a removable universal one , and a DIY one also from BMR. fuuny thing is the one that fit the best - or with no modification or work was the bolt in BMR one ( i had to turn it around) . the little dip they use to clear the exhaust now sits nicly under the torque arm mount and clears it nicely
hopefully i'll have some quality time with the car the next few days so i can really get stuff done

So we finally make it out to the track
out of the box with just shock adjustments recomended by the one and only MadMan ( Thanks Brian!!) the 3440 lbs raceweight camaro got a 1.25 60' right off the trailer !!
other runs we were not as lucky ( read wrong brake bias, miss shift , no log , broken throttle cable , loose pcm ground , coolant temp ses. not connected, etc etc, ) , but the car did manage a best of 8.5 @ 260 kph ( 162 mph) with a 5.4 in the 1/8th if my memory serves me correctly (i have to double check the slip )
now on to the bad news ,,,, in the second eleimination round i decided to stall the car a bit higher ( up to 3800 -4000 rpm ) ,,,, the front u joint didn't want anything to do with that so it quit ! and in the process took out the tranny and cross member
(sorry for the blurry pics , will get better ones soon )
case damage :
floor damage :
the bmr d/s loop did its job nicely , imagine if i had one of those bigger ones that hug the floor pan , think of how much more the damage might have been .
in any case ,looks like i'll be needing a new tranny now along with a s shaft and loop
i also should have a vid or two uploaded pretty soon .
the silver lining in the whole thing is now i know the thing has a lot left in it , and along with the upcoming weight reduction plans this pig will fly
