Thanks bowtienut!!
Started tearing into the LS1 Dash & Console swap the other day. Since my dash is pretty much a shell, the swap was easy. Alot of 7mm bolts and it pulls right out. Looks like I will have to rewire the hatch switch though, but no biggie. The main thing is going to be rewiring up the gauge cluster (which I still need a 97 one if anyone wants to swap for a LS1 cluster?) Otherwise everything lines up and bolts right in, no real modification needed.
Here is the dash installed minus the "guts"
All put together. I still need the defrost button that goes above the radio, heater control ***** (lt1 ***** wont fit?) and a radio delete panel.
Due to daylight ending, I didnt get the console in. Should bolt right in, but will have to trim the console plate a little for the B&M shifter to fit just right. More on that when I get some more free time.

Thanks AC!
Well its winter time and other than a few things here and there, the car will be on hold until spring. Plus I bought a 91 RS Camaro that I am doing a quick restoration and paint job to be a daily driver so I can go a little more insane on this build, so Ive been busy piecing together a front clip for that car, I do have a build thread over on Thirdgen.org if anyone wants to check it out (dont want to waste space on here, more than I already am) Here's the link
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/me...-rs-build.html
But I did notice its been right at a year since I started this thread and granted not everything I wanted has gotten done or still a timeslip, I feel I have accomplished ALOT in the past year and am curious to see what the next year will bring.
I am in the process of working on lowering the front of the car, installing ARP wheel studs on the front of the car, finishing the LS1 center console swap (gotta make it fit the B&M ProStick) and trying to save up for a Strange Dana rear end.

Since I am sidetracked from the build due to the cold, I met up the other day with robsquikz28 and traded my SS spoiler for the 5 inch "Dick Harrell" spoiler. Kinda a risky decision, but I figured it would fit better with the Z/28 theme (cowl hood/high rise spoiler) I do need to prep the pieces and paint them, but figured I'd mark out where the pieces need to go and test fit them first.
Front view looking back...
Rear view...Can also see where I need to paint a spot and blend it in where the Camaro moved on a trailer and kissed the ramp...No biggie though...

Thanks for the comments about the spoiler. I was 50/50 on getting it. At first I didnt like it, but it grew on me, then I saw one in person and fell in love, really sets the car apart from the rest of them. I will get some more pictures after my buddy paints it and I touch up the bumper and detail the car, sitting all winter has it looking kinda rough.
Nice ride 1badzee! Like the Berger panel!
Doing the spoiler in tribute to this car...Dick Harrell Camaro...I wish this was being delivered to me...

Picked up a 97 gauge cluster to go with the LS1 dash swap. Picked this up for $75 from seanaugustus on here...Thanks! Turns out the 97 cluster is the only one you can use if you have a LT1. Also took the connector from the parts car at the junkyard when I pulled the dash. Just need to pull the old wires out and plug in my wires.
Also put my center console in the car and turns out it is charcoal and not black like the dash. Anyone know what the best interior dye is to match the dash color?

Finally had a break at work and was able to get it painted. I love how it looks on the car. Should look even more aggressive when I put on my front lowering springs. Glad your wife likes her SS spoiler! Here is a pic from my condo's balcony.
Also to keep this a "budget" thread, I want to see what abuse a 10 bolt can take instead of dropping big money on a S60 or 9 inch. If anyone has a 10 bolt with a 3.73 or 4.10 gear locally or willing to meet or ship cheap, please contact me. I figure with the cars weight and auto trans, I MIGHT be able to make the 10 bolt survive!
BTW...to all the people who have sent me PMs. Ive been offline for a couple weeks and the messages have stacked up. I tried to answer all the questions. If I missed anyone, I am sorry and send me another PM.

No "real" work on the car as of recently other than just been driving it and usual maintence. I did race a friends mid 11 second LS1 Camaro and was dead even with it, so Im kinding hoping this is true for the track, but I figure maybe its more like mid to low 12s and the difference cant really be seen on the street.
But back to the thread and doing a budget build. I did track down a TH350 that was used in a friends 570 rwhp 70 1/2 Camaro. It has a TCI 3800 stall with a nitrous plate as well. (which is nice since I do plan on spraying this year) Thing is though, he messed up the trans and needs new bands and everything inspected and convertor flushed. He wants $200 for the convertor and trans. Its a short tailshaft so I *may* need a new driveshaft. My other friend is doing the trans for $400 total and probably TCI will want around 150 to flush the convertor.
Also, still looking for a cheap, working 10 bolt with 3.73-4.10ish gear to see if I can get this car in the 10s on a cam-only motor (still need a cam though, gm847) a 150 shot, th350, and 4.10s on 275 tires...Hopefully have a time slip before the end of the year. I need your guys help if anyone has or knows of a good cam or rearend cheap.

My whole thought is...and correct me if Im wrong in logic...is to build this current engine to go into the 10s on spray, cam, stall, gear, drag radials, suspension, chassis mods and weight reduction...I want to try and hit my goal of going into the 10s for as cheap as possible...
Then when I do hit 10s and its time to rebuild the LT1, I will have the 847 or similiar cam, which would be even better with aftermarket heads or ported stockers, I would have the bottom end forged and set up for as a nitrous engine where I could spray even more than a 150 shot and see where that takes me...
But first, Id like to hit 10s for under $10000 including the car. I think I can do it...
Then who know what a 2800-3000 pound car with a forged 355, 847 cam, aftermarket heads, aprox 250 shot dropped in place could do? Maybe go for low 9s???
