If I could have fit the A/C it would still be in there and it would be my primary daily driver. Because I had to remove it, I can't drive in the rain which means I have to drive the beater most of the summer but in the winter (our dry season here), I drive it everywhere. This isn't a streetable race car. It's a raceable street car. I got this thing so quiet that Hondas try to pick races with me. It makes my day when I get to club an unsuspecting baby seal that begs for it.

Thanks for taking the time to write that out.

I got started racing in the early 90's and then took about 10 yrs off when I got married. I decided to get back in the game around 2005. The information available now compared to back then (as if it were soooo long ago but in internet years it's like 100) is amazing.

This site helped my alot when learning the ins and outs of the LSx platform. My first build thread was more inquisitive than it was informative. Many knowledgeable people were willing to step up and help me work thru many of my beginner issues. Once I saw the power of the collective knowledge, there was no going back.

I've also been fortunate enough to fall into a group of like minded individuals with deeper pockets than my own. Having earned their trust, I have the opportunity to test my ideas with someone else's money. Fortunately, it has worked out for us all.

As you know, back in the day, unless you were fortunate enough to know someone that had tried it all and already made all the mistakes, you were pretty much stuck with trial and error. This can get WAY more expensive.

So again, thanks for the kind words!

Good bullet mufflers will knock the sound down without much impact on power. But in order to get really quiet, you'll need to restrict the exhaust which will cost you some power. Electric cutouts are a good way to have the best of both worlds but I have never seen ones that last for very long and they are expensive.

Finally got the Holley Touchscreen LCD mounted. I think it turned out pretty badass.

The small gap on the lower right corner was initially so that I could access the SD card in the side of the screen. With the temperature and the humidity, the fiberglass resin and the the bondo under the vinyl was taking forever to setup regardless of how much hardener he put in it. I told him to abandon that for now and that we'll revisit it later. I love the look!

Glad to hear it.

Just wanted to add a few updates.

I was having a hard time with the Bosch 160 injectors. Had to idle very fat (11.5-11.8:1) in order to keep them from surging. Being as though my cam is relatively small and I only have 370ci, my idle fueling requirements were too low for the MIPW of 1.6 ms that those injectors seemed to want. I got a set of the Holley 120# low imp and they work fantastic. Car idles solid at 14-14.5:1.

Right after I got the new injectors, I blew up the output planetary in my Th350 transmission. This transmission didn't owe me a thing. I've been pulling 1.3 60's on 2 wheels since 2007 @ almost 3900# race weight. Only problem that I have ever had with it was that from day one, it pushes thru the transbrake at over 3600 RPM. So that's where my 2 step has always been set. So almost 4 years later, I'm looking at what I should do about a transmission. I went ahead and pulled it apart and found that the splines in the output shaft were a little tweaked as well. I took it back to the guy that built it and was debating whether or not I should fix it and put it back in or just move up to a TH400. He suggested that it would be worth it for me to rebuild it back to it's original state and sell it than to just scrap it. I asked him to address the transbrake issue while he was in there. He replaced all the broken and injured parts and put in a new set of red clutches and steels. 36 element intermediate sprag/drum assembly.

I put it in and took it for a blast. Shifts perfect but the transbrake still wont hold over 3600 rpm. I've decided that I need to sell it while it's brand new. I'm thinking $700 hopefully local. I was really wanting to do a 4L80E but then I would have to buy a new converter also. With the TH400, I'll just have to shorten the driveshaft most likely.

So, that gives me a little down time now that the air is starting to get hot again. I've known since the first time that I tried to build any significant boost (14+ psi), that the T4 .96 A/R exh housing on my PT88 turbo is too small for a 370ci motor. I bought the thing from a buddy with a TType (V6) and they are often found next to a 2JZ motorunder the hood of a Supra. I got to looking around and found what I hope to be the answer. T6 1.08 bolt on exhaust housing.

This thing has a 5" DP opening so I will need to step that down to my 4" DP. Shouldn't be a big deal as it uses the same turbine wheel.

I was toying with the idea of a 4L80E. The problem is that even with the great price that he was willing to do, I still would need a new converter. That would add up to too much money for me. That and I'm not real crazy about adding anymore weight to my car.

I called my buddy Greg @ FTI and he put together a price that was too good to pass up on a glide. I should have it in a couple of weeks. The turbo should love it.
