Only been at it alittle while but fabing these shifter rods is driving me crazy lol
Finally got the 1/2 and 3/4 workin great. Ya can see in the one pic where I had to heat the rods for some minor bending to get the ends to line up flat at each end. Got a small alingment prob with reverse. No biggie, I'll just drill a new hole in the reverse arm and flip the rod n see what happens lol
More to come in awhile.
Ahhhhhhhh thats better. just gotta cut that 90 off the one end and weld them together. And still got adjustment on the threaded end.
Bottabing Bottaboom....one customized reverse rod
After all the heating, bending and welding got everything primed and painted gloss black. Also cut off the extra metal on the mounting plate.
Alll the fab work on the shifter install is DONE mark that off the list(if I had one)

The big brown truck came today
Got my ceramic coated headers and 2 1/2" X-pipe kit from Summit. Both are Summit brand.
Enough chit chat for now lol back to getting ready for the 2K primer.
Heres a few pics real quick between coats.
I would have to say I am pretty happy after the 2nd coat
When I started I was using the 1.7 tip and went to the 2.0, much better with the 2.0.

Here are some more pics for your wiewing pleasure. I rolled her outside to make it easier to sweep the garage.
Then I realized this is the first time she has been outside on her own 4 feet in almost 3 years.
In the pics you will see me, my 2 youngest grandkids and of course the car lol.
I figure now is as good a time as any to fix the huge run that was on the firewall. Will get back on that latter today.
Ok, that looks better
Been lookin for stuff to do since I can't put the engine n trans in permanent yet or start block sanding so I sandblasted n painted the front inner fender supports. Was hopeing to install them tonight, but don't think I can handle them till tomorrow
I did get both front inner fender supports mounted. They dried quicker then I thought they would.
Thats it for today. Hopefully more to come tomorrow.
Amazing Job! Really saved this car from rusting away!
