Tonights work on the left side. Came out better then I thought it would, only got 2 low spots.
Don't really want to dirty the spray gun for those 2 small spots so maybe tomorrow I'll strip the trunk lid and touch up both sides n spray the trunk lid. Sounds like a plan, lol

Got the left sail panel ready for more primer.
Gonna start to strip the trunk lid next.
The used quarter on the left is not as flat as the new quarter on the right.
Ok..............were having fun now, NOT lol
Got the top side of the trunk lid stripped.
Gonna grab some dinner n go to the liquor store, then flip it and play with the bottom side.
I've been alittle worried but I do have a good solid trunk lid
Some light surface rust, but nothin POR-15 can't take care of. It was painted dark blue at one time with no primer so the wire wheel takes it off real easy and doesn't hurt the light blue which must be factory. So I'll wire wheel the whole thing, POR-15 the edges, then my plan is to spray it with Eastwood satin black like the firewall n cowl, then epoxy primer the top.
Got all the dark blue off. The light blue is solid so I think I am good to go. Tomorrow I'll sand it all and put the POR-15 on n go from there.

Since it looks likle I'll be in paint mode today, might as well get the filler panel n wire guards done too.
2-15-2009
Finally got some POR-15 on the trunk lid, inside of filler panel n wire guards.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm wonder how much I could get for the wire guards on Ebay? LOL J/K
Can't do much else till this stuff dries.
Here is a couple pics of the proper way to prime POR-15 per POR-15 instructions.
When the POR-15 is almost dry but still a tiny bit tacky, spray a dusting of primer. After(tomorrow)fully dry, ya can full coat primer.
Once I put on to much primer to soon and it made the POR-15 run.

Here is a couple pics of the final coat of primer on the POR-15. Came out pretty good.
Next I will epoxy prime the sail panels, the top of filler panel n top of trunk lid.
More pics latter on this evening.
Heres a few pics of the epoxy primer, it is still wet n shiny. I will get some pics latter after it dries. I think it looks ok.
Here is more pics of everything dry. Being primer, I think it looks better dry.

Ok now(tomorrow) I can get some more work done.
While I'm waiting for some 2K n sandpaper I will finish the inside n get some rustoleum put on.
Here is some pics of the inside now.
Well. I could not just go in the house and not do anything lol
I sanded n primed the package tray. Hopefully more to come tomorrow.

My daughters boy friend who is a driver for my paint supplier(son-in-law)asked today what primer and sandpaper I need. So hopefully I'll be getting that stuff soon

Look what I just got
Primer, activator, reducer, mixing cups and some 320 grit sandpaper
Now I can get some sanding done

Not a huge update today, was helping my daughter move most of the day. But I was able to get some sanding done on the epoxy to get ready for the 2K. Maybe get some 2K on tomorrow but if not, Tuesday for sure
Amazing Job! Really saved this car from rusting away!
