Heres where I stand....
No rush Clay just let me know when you have time on that a/c vent.
While I had the inner fenders off I drilled and installed both fender emblems.
Just ignore the sag in my clearcoat on the R/S fender, It will be taken off when color sand and buff take place. The lower fender bolts still needed to be removed and a block of woodplaced at bottom of fender to gain access to the backside of the emblems.
Next was a little more rustproofing, I used a transtar brand spray rustproofing and also purchased a neat nozzle kit to aid in applying this product to all of the nooks and crannies of my car. The kit had several different spray tips and the one I used the most which was a long tube with a very small metal tip at the end which sprayed out a 360 pattern. The rustproofing sprays out wet and dries in about 30 minutes, And cleans up with wax and grease remover.
I moved onto installing all of the front end sheet metal hopefully for the last time LOL. Both inner fenders were bolted in place, Next was the lower front valance. My new NOS grille and emblem were put in which followed by the front bumper and turn signal lamps. Pics are a little dark I will shoot a few brighter pics when the sun decides to come back out down here.
This weekend I had zero progress on the car due to rain all weekend,
But on a brighter note... I have rented a small shop big enough to park my camaro and still have enough room to work on another car. I will be moving the car hopefully next weekend to its new home, inside and out of the elements. I will be doing some welding and metal work on the side to help pay the rent, So if theres any members near me who would rather not do there rust repairs themselves give me shout. Thanks for checking out my project Rob

inching along.....
With only one day of the weekend for car time due to having to work on the wifes DD. I needed to install 2 shift selonoids and serviced the transmission in her truck. I tried to move my car over to the shop I am renting but it wasnt cleaned out yet So I guess next Saturday it will be.Today i focused on the interior of the car. A pillar trim was installed first, then both lower cowl panels and e-brake pedal were put in. Then the carpet, shifter, console and sill plates also installed.
And last i installed the battery tray and the battery.
Still have both door panels, dash cluster, front seats and wire up the radio to do inside the car. I guess it will be next year before i get to take that first ride because of the holiday next week.

Camaro under cover.....
Even though it was xmas eve, I couldnt stand my car sitting out in the weather any longer. I called in a flat bed to move my camaro to the new shop I will be renting. The car was moved on Saturday and today I began the task of moving over the welder, work benches, shelving, tools and such. With all of the moving and cleaning I didnt have any car time at all this weekend But I do feel better it is now stored indoors and out of the weather. I still need to have the power turned on, move my air comp. and a few more odds and ends. And I will finish putting this car together. here are a few pics of the camaros new home.

How about a little progress....
Its been a while since I've updated my project. Ive been steady working on it but havent had to much picture worthy. For starters the engine compartment wiring is complete, I fabbed up a few brackets to aid in keeping my spark plugs wires from touching the headers, and ran the plug wires up under the headers.Alt and P/S pump were taken apart cleaned and painted, Power steering pump and lines were also installed. I had to buy a throttle cable for a 79 camaro with the square end to snap into the holley carb bracket. The vac lines for the modulator and the brake booster were connected, At this point I still didnt know if my motor was going to produce enough vac to feed the brake booster. Heres a few shots of the engine compartment.
The brake system was bled, this took a little time being all of the lines were new. I installed my center A/C vent that I got from Clay.
I cut out vapor barriers for both doors and installed them. I know the armrest brackets are installed in the wrong spot, LOL this was corrected.
Then the Fat Mat was installed on the backside of both door panels, and the panels installed on the doors.
Heres a pic from the loft in my shop.
I know its dark but here a side shot showing how the car sits.
Even though I lost my second job I was able to save up enough cash to get the camaro insured through Hagerty and pay motor vehicle for the registration and my new Tag.....
With the car being street legal, I couldnt resist the temptation to bolt in the front seat, tighten down all of the suspention components and take it on its maiden voyage. I will be posting up this video and a few others as soon as they load on my computer, Stay Tuned.......
Heres a few videos....
The first video is of my car moving under its own power for the first time in over two years when this project started. I felt like I was seventeen years old and just got my license
Here one with my son taping while in the back seat.
And the last one pulling back into my shop to give it the once over.
Hopefully you guys can see these videos, if not let me know and I will try to post them agian. I couldnt be happier with the first ride, Motor has plenty of power, I broke the tires loose at 45 mph. Rear end was quiet, no sqeaks or rattles, and no fluid leaks as of right now.I do need to adjust my detent cable and fine tune the carb, but so far so good. I was smiling from ear to ear. I promise the burn out video will be comming soon.
Great cars so cool back then. I believe about $3,600 at the time?
