Thanks guys for the positive feedback! I thought I would get flack from the purist. Anyways, I worked yesterday on the driver's side door for a bit and got pretty far.

The handle, mirror, chrome trim and wind wing are all removed!

On the inside you'll see the window crank, door panels, glass and most of everything else has been removed too.

Don't try to pull the glass from the metal band it is attached to on the bottom of the window. I learned you can turn the window at different angles untill it comes out without breaking the glass. Sounds stupid, but it works much better.

Hello all,

I worked on the car last night and although it seems redundant...I removed everything from the passenger door. It took about half to pull the door apart since I knew what I was doing. One of the screws had to be drilled out, but things went well. I don't know how the Swedes screwed the wing window on the door, but he must have been done by a guy 7 feet tall and weighed 350 pounds. The screws were very hard to remove.

Here is the passenger door all cleaned up.

There is something that needs to be said about cleaning glass that hasn't seen the light of day for 40 years. The window is actually about 6 inches taller than what you see with it rolled up. You'll see the part that isn't visible is black with mold, dirt and grime. It was nice to finally clean this up! The windows actually smelled. That's when you know it's time to restore the car!
