Ladies and Gentleman by popular demand my HID installation writeup.

Ah the obligatory box photo

Lets see whats inside

Only 2 ballasts and 2 bulbs, we dont need more than that!

Step one drill out the back of the headlights, I tried to fit the ballast into the headlight housing but it was pretty tight and I didnt want my nice new HIDs to burn up in anyway shape or form.

The headlight back cover

+ 1" hole saw

=

The grommet comes attached to all the cables

so with the bulb on the inside push the connectors through on the other side of the grommet

It just pops through, dont forget to put the burner where the old light bulb was (I thought I took a pic of that)

We have 2 spade connectors on the inside of the headlight now. Plug them in where the halogen bulb connected Brown to black yellow to red

Then hit it with some electrical tape, I used some heat shrink and then electrical tape

There are 3 clips connecting the ballast to the headlight, they only fit one way. Gray to gray and black to black

Find a spot for the ballast and secure it with the supplied double sided stick tape

I put the drivers side ballast here after wiping everything with alcohol.

And the passenger ballast here.

And now the results

Yeah its the middle of the day

A little later that night

I still need to adjust the passenger light to be a little more right Ill do that tomorrow

I'm very happy with the end result, no relays, no CEL cancelers, and no battery connection. In total the install took me 45 minutes, but now that I know how to do it, I could prob get it done in 30. It took me a solid 15 minutes to decide where to mount the ballast  It just works!

Some supplemental photos.

Pull this tab to get your headlights out, as if you didnt know

For Santa, all you need to do is move the hole over a few mm. my wires do touch the AC but its nothing alittle zip tie cant cure
