So I averaged 20 mpg on this last tank of gas which included the trip to Winston Salem from Asheville and back, a few interstate challengers who were quickly put in their places, around the vintage, a quick little sprint with Dan and Otis, and finally a day's worth of running around Asheville today running errands. So I think it is a pretty accurate representation of what I normally see as I have driven this car over the last year.

I think I am way late but its better than never. Here is some tire shredding action. Only 1st gear and in a small space but fun all the same.

Some progress happened.
This was the holset, no wonder she was smoking at idle!
An empty place in my heart.
A little comparison. And don't let the external profile throw you off.
And a little mock up so I can see how much fab work I have to get done.

So I got some work done! I didn't want to completely rebuild the down pipe so I modified what I had. And I got to practice my metal working skills when I reduced a 3" pipe down to match the V-band flange. I need to finish the welds and wrap the down pipe again, connect the oil return, have the coolant lines made and install, and change the oil & filter. Afterwards I will need to tweak the tune.
Pic time!

Wrapped and installed down pipe. I'm loving the fitment.

So, things happened early this morning and then being a single dad/snow got in the way of progress.
I finished and installed my "quick change" rear exhaust section. The restrictive and heavy flow master series 50 muffler is now on the shelf. In its place..... V-band and straight pipe!

At the Vintage 2016
so my current plan is to pull the engine back out to address a couple issues such as the slipping stage 3+ clutch. The clutch itself is fine but I have apparently exceeded its capabilities. And I am going to disassemble the block so that I can have it O-ringed. The MLS headgaskets are ok but with the way I drive and the lack of higher octane ethanol they dont last.... High horsepower problems, I know I know! So I am going to spend the next few weeks accumulating funds and getting the iX street ready so I can daily it. Then the heart is coming back out of the green beast for tear down and upgrades. I also plan on doing some further exhaust mods and hood mod for some easily changeable flame throwing short pipes.
Oh not to mention the hardtop is going to be finally painted
And wasted spark is happening when it all goes back together
And flipping the throttle body
yeah..... things are going to be happening.
Nice!
