STI intercooler's scrapped. Using my friends stock SRT4 FMIC.


I'm going to gather everything needed to get the bottom end togeather. Anyone have a nice dial torque wrench and has done assembly on a diesel/8v motor ( someone who'll also come out for german beer) - As I'm broke (always money in the beer fund.)

Bottom end (whats left)
-Find someone that'll machine the oil squirters in
-gasket kit
-intermediate shaft bearing (shafts also been turned down and polished)
-Mains and con-rod bearings
-36mm oil pump
-windage tray
-Drill pan for oil return



Whats left to get running:
-Headwork: Oringed, checked for flatness, cam polished (little surface rust from sitting)
-Giles Turbo IP (stage3 build) 11mm pump head
-Rebuild and clip the t3 I have from my 300D, weld WG
-Make adapter for intake manifold for 3inch IC plumbing (G60 intake)
-Lighten Flywheel
-GTD injector nozzles on 1.9aaz two-stage injectors (giles rebuild)
-Wire in gages and gasser cluster (for tach)
-Make alt. bracket to delete ac, use new tdi clutched pully
-Figure out which fuel filters to use, plumb in walbro lift pump
-make plate to adopt t3 flanged exhaust many to the t24 style on the turbo
- get spacer for TiAL WG

I need help with a project title, as it seems Mk1gtd just dosnt have the right snap to it.




Took a look at the head today. Pulled the cam off and noticed some wear on the journals. Looked at the cam journals themselves - and they're TOAST.

Anyone comes across a 1.9AAZ or 1.6 Diesel (Mechanical or hydro..) Let me know.

-Ordered all the bottom end parts needed, from Mike @ the dub doctor.

-Installed the total seal piston rings; cant for the life of me figure out if these rings need filing for end gap clearance (gapless 2nd ring)

-Found a shop that would do oil squiters. Gregs cylinder head. bit of a drive out, but prices are good.

-Got a hold of someone with a 1.9 head. Nice part - he'll trade the turbo parts off of my 300d (scrapping)

-Still need: USRT shift kit, techtronics short throw are and shifter base. Giles done turbo IP with 11mm head. wavetrac lsd, some misc other small parts.




I'll be building the shortblock sometime in the next two weeks. This will be my first motor build. I've read a lot and have the bently; I would still like someone who's done this before to supervise. All this money - I dont want it to be lost from something as simple as a loose nut.

I'll be installing a VNT off of a dodge sprinter. Should make 32psi of boost and flow nice.



Wastegate is not needed anymore. Anyone need one?

Quick update:


This projects kind of on hold due to me forming a company, and spending all my time/money on it.

I've also found a hookup on Diamond pistons and Corella rods. This maybe a bit bigger build then I imagined. I'm going to use forged main caps and a main girdle also.



This sint just going to be a fun weekend car build anymore. I'm shooting for the high hp/torque 1.6 diesel ever built....
