Dude, I almost wet my pants 'cuz I did the math wrong on those batteries. I figured they would cost me $1000 for a pack. Too bad I was off by a factor of ten. Oops. $11 grand is a little more than I've got. The assembly of the pack is actually not the bad part. It's just the cost. I'd LOVE to do LiFePO4, and I probably will in the future, but now I'm still paying off some loans and don't have the resources.

I'm really not a pessimist. I'm just trying to do this on a very restricted budget, but thanks to all for the input on battery sources. Pretty much what I need is a 40MJ pack, which translates into 11kWh.

In other news, some pictures of my FoxE Lady sitting a little higher than she used to.

I finally got some motor measurements done. I don't know the parameters yet because I'm too lazy to crunch the numbers, but I'm ready now to start figuring how in the eff I'm going to:

A. Mount this to the transmission.
B. Tie it down to the engine bay.

There are, luckily, some threaded mounting holes for the foot. I don't know yet if I'm going to re-do the housing endbells, or if I'm going to just shield them from road water, or if I'll just drive it when the weather is nice for a while.

I also cut the crossmember connecting the lower A-arms and put in a brace. I had zero welding experience with sheetmetal, so no hatin' on the 22-Ga. plate crappiness in the cutout.
