This weekend I installed the PTP Turbo Blanket and further attempted to track down the massive boost leak haunting my motor.

To start the Turbo Blanket install, I needed to remove the Cobb Heatshield:

To completely remove the heatshield, you must remove your TMIC if you have installed a larger TMIC like I have. However, it is possible to install the turbo blanket without completely removing the heatshield. In my circumstance, the TMIC had already been removed to track down my boost leak

My impression of the Turbo Blanket:

While I do not have a heat gun to accurately determine the difference in underhood temps before/after the blanket installation, I can actually TOUCH the heatshield after driving the car, something I could never have done before the blanket installation.

You're 75% correct! The cyl. head vents don't run to the oil cap, they run to my Oil Catch Can:

This removes the oil blowby from the cylinder head vents. Though honestly, I haven't had a single drop of blowby since I installed the catch can. I do, however, have some amount of oil blowby from my PCV valve...
