I finally got the car running again last night. It's been a struggle with my schedule and I am really happy it's back together. I am getting tuned again in about two weeks so it won't be long now.
I forgot to post this pict when I installed the MBC. Here's where I drilled the new hole:
The hard plastic line at the tip of my finger is the adjustment cable cover. This was a super easy place to drill a hole and it had a nice reference point from both sides (master cyl).

I took the car for a good two hour drive today so that I could bring everything up to full temp and re-torque all the bolts. Everything seems like its pretty good. The boost response is significantly betting than last time so I am really happy.

Ok, ok, I am getting the car tuned for the third time next week. I tried to get a secret dyno session with Element last Friday but i had a massive fuel injector failure on the dyno and got stranded in MD. The car is now home and new fuel system parts are waiting for me to install them. It was my hope to announce that my car was done and tuned as a surprise but that really didn't work out very well. Theres a lot of concern that the motor was damaged but I think it will be ok. I guess I will know in a week sonIf I look sad at the next meet or worse yet don't show up please buy me a drink next time you see me.

Anybody ever wonder what your spark plugs would look like if you ran at 4:1 on the dyno? The one in the center is a normal plug from last year.
Speaking of fuel systems, Ultimate Racing has absolutely awesome customer service and replaced the injectors without any trouble at all. The only thing this cost me is $40 in shipping because I wanted them to upgrade to overnight ($30) and I needed to ship the bunk injectors back ($10).
Two nights ago I installed a new set of UR 1260cc injectors, four new spark plugs and and a new JEGS brand 100 micron fuel filter this week (see pict of filter). After putting the car back together I started it up and the motor sounded horrible and idled like crap. That really worried me since I didn't have a chance to look at it again until today. Upon closer inspection with my laptop I discovered that the car was idling at nearly 17:1! A month ago Phil told me that my motor needed to run richer than normal at idle due to the head work, cams and compression so its normally around 13:1.
The moment that I adjusted the fuel and brought the idle AFRs back to 13:1 the motor smoothed out and started to sound perfect. I scaled the rest of my map up 10% and I am planning to go out for a bit of road tuning later to get everything else back to where it needs to be for the drive down. The car seems healthy so as Alex (binjoau) said, I think the third time will be the charm.
Man, why does this crap keep happening. Good lord, what else could go wrong.
Any way, I just put fresh oil in my car today and I decided to cut the oil filter apart to see how it looked. I have never pulled a filter apart so I have nothing to compare to so I am not sure how my filter looked. There was a bit of junk in there and I am guessing it was aluminum and bearing material. Everything was in an extremely fine powder like form (think 2000 grit or finer sand paper) and extremely hard to see/pick out in direct sunlight so I guess that's not a problem. It would have been impossible to capture a picture of the grit with any camera at my disposal so I didnt even try. If I had all of it separated from the oil there may have been 1/4 of a spoon full which I guess isn't that much. I will have to cut the filter apart on my WRX next time to see what it looks like.
Here's my new filter setup. As you can see, I had to change things around a bit but thats really not a big deal. I think it looks ok and if it keeps everything clean and working well then I will be very happy.
Nice!
