Discount tires took a look at the rear tire that has less than 9000 miles on it and said it was a seperation issue, and would replace the tire for free as it is a manufacturer issue and that will be $87.00 thanks. I also complained that because of the wear I felt it was not a good Idea to just replace the one tire and they will not help at all on that, There is clearly too much wear to replace just one. The quote to do both was over $300.00. I spent $1100 less than a year ago. Well I guess that is how it goes now days, I am glad that the problem got me into looking at bearings and doing this project and the struts that were clunking like crazy are fixed which is great but the prospect of spending more money right now is not good!
here are a couple more of the GT40, I actually restored this car and it was used for the Monterey Historics. Dan Gurney drove the car and I was fortunate enough to be able to take a few Laps with him.
