1940 Buick straight eight. Last passed inspection in 1985, sat 30 years and the engine stuck. Unstuck it, still wouldn't start due to low compression. Removed the head and did a leak-down test. Rings were good. Gave it a valve job, runs great now.
During the 30 years the car sat, the choke linkage and idle adjustment cam rusted stuck so the idle speed was high. Any comment where all you say is "the idle high" will be deleted.
