This is the 2nd XJR in my life. Just bought it. It's a 2003. One owner. That owner (Dean) took excellent care of his car for over 20 years. And it shows. It's not a show car, with its bumps and bruises, but that is fine with me...I drive cars. Sometimes I have paid the price for my manner of use, or lack of proper attention to one thing or another.
While seeing cars at the show or concours has its moments,,,there is nothing like a good, sometimes vigorous drive. At 162,000+ miles it has not languished in the garage, but it has lived there enough of its life that the original paint still shines well and the clear coat is still clear all around. It has needs and the first thing are shock bushings all around. I'm not a weenie about doing things...but at 70 I am more inclined to let my mobile mechanic handle most things. Time will tell how much I may DIY myself.
Thank you so much...now I just need to keep it that way and running too. Suspension work right now. But I did know that when I bought it so it is hard to complain.
