The car came off the chassis table last week. The rear setup is now going in. They cut out all the old mounts for the lower link body mounts to get all the mounting points where we want them. Instead of one mounting point we will have multiple to give more adjustability.
Here is a picture of the engine bay minus the drivetrain.

Here is a quick video or the bottom of the car. Front suspension is done and Work has started on the rear. It took a lot of work to get out the old suspension brackets and mounts. Starting from scratch for the new torque arm. Should be a beast when it is done.

The car is almost like a full frame car now. The new subframe connectors beneath the seat pan and all the other boxing are made out of 1/8” steel. It should be a pretty stiff chassis when all is said and done. Adding the 6 point bar made a big difference as well.
A more rigid chassis should allow the suspension to work like it is designed to. The more chassis flex there is the less consistent the handling will be.
I am interested that see how the rear shocks and panhard bar end up being mounted. It will be very tight for exhaust mounting. At the moment I plan on dual 2.5” exhaust but I am not sure there will be space for it on the drivers side. Since the tank is offset to that side and panhard bar mount is on the axle on that side space is very limited. I am now thinking about using a dual into single pipe over the axle and then split it behind the gas tank. That would allow both exhaust tips to be functional. I will have to wait for the rear suspension to be mounted before I overthink that portion of the plan.
The build is taking much longer to complete than I ever planned but the final product should be a fantastic driving experience. I am really looking forward to the day I can take it out for a ride.
Great photos!
