The door gaps and window mod preparation is looking pretty good. The gaps are set and the door metal modifications are just about done. I have a couple door glass tracks on the way so the we can fit in the one piece glass. No more vent windows.

That is pretty funny! I can imagine you driving down the road without a windshield. LOL!

Progress at this point of my build is pretty slow. We are working on a few small items. The front tow hook, cold air intake that will pull air in from the hood scoop and a new hood support setup. The hood support will be moved to the drivers side and I will use an adjustable prop rod setup instead of the gas struts. I would like to stay on one side of the car to close the hood. After that we really need to get some of the glass. The quarter windows will be made out of a windshield of a Mazda Miata that is cut down. We need that before we can mount the mounting flange.

The body shop is now working on a cover that will go over the hood latch rod. The idea is that it will cover up all the ugly that you see from the factory setup but allow it to be removable if needed. It should be a pretty slick modification that will clean up the engine compartment.

The process of cleaning up the engine bay continues. The latch cover is 3 pieces and easily removable. The holes for the latch to engage will be closed off inside so you will only see a small pocket.

The latch cover is pretty much done. We just have to mount the bumpers. My body guy was nice enough to sign the car for me.

I also wanted to switch the hood prop over to the drivers side so I can close the hood without walking to the other side of the car. I also ditched the gas strut in favor of a multiple position hood prop from Lokar. It has about 6 positions you can open the hood to. Just cracked for a car show or between runs at the track to cool the car down.

We have a little clean up to do to the supports on the hood, fabricate a cold air inlet that will pull air from the hood scoop and then mount the tow hook to the front of the car. Getting really close.

I also picked up a containment seat this week. It is a cobra seat the I will mount in the car for track days. I will have it to match the other upholstery work as close as I can.
