I'm getting super pissed off with PayPal right now. I transferred cash from my bank to my PayPal account and it's 5 days past the expected deposit date! Grrr!
I can't buy parts without cash in there!
Il be trailering it there and back. Il just drop the car off and leave it for the 2-3 weeks to have everything completely installed, tuned / broken in etc ready fot collection!
500whp! Yes please
Perhaps I sounded a little blind with my previous statements. I am very much involved in the final goal for the car, where I would like my powerband etc etc.
As for specific part choices I have reviewed everything with Dominic and he has rationalised the part choices to me. Including the cams, using a GTX series turbo, why the long rod is good for my driving style and the roads I drive.
I am also a total internerd and frequently read everything I can about the products we have chosen to install. I originally wanted to go with a GT30r but again after discussing the goals for the car we decided it was not enough for the HP goal we were after.
So to say I am allowing Dominic free run is not exactly accurate, I know where I want to end up and he is suggesting the best route to get there. The final decision as he stated is of course my decision.
We're really trying to achieve a combination of things with this build:
500 whp
Daily driven reliability
Off boost drivability
Smooth powerband
These were all design briefs that we went through and the GTX3576r with the long rod 2.5 should get us there.
I truly believe Dominic and MPS have the R&D to show the advantage of the long rod design in real world applications.
I'm excited to keep this build updated and show what can be achieved with one of these engines

There is a gentleman running a rotated 35r on E85 on an 09 WRX with 530whp and he has not had any problems to date, i do wonder if this is because of the LGT style 5 speed.
As a general rule I do not drive with the TC turned off unless at the track, the car with the DOM3xtr was easy to control and I appreciate an additional 150whp will change things. Anybody running 500whp want to chime in on traction issues?
I think what I mean by "easy" on the trans is no 5k launches etc. However I am not unrealistic and naive thinking it will last forever. Il undoubtedly look to step up to an STI 6 speed or build mine. Perhaps il have a chat with MPS and discuss the cost of upgrading the transmission.
Dom, want to chime in on a reccomendation?
