Yeah I mean the price seems high but I guess if they provide warranty that's great too.
Well junior put me in touch with Terry at P&L. He seems like an awesome guy and he understood my concerns and goals. There is no doubt in my mind the car will be getting fixed by p&l
So what do you guys think about the Element GT52 turbo? Im so fed up of the issues with the 3" compressor wheel and inlet fitment. I want to go back to a 2.4"
Okay so after having a chat with my brother (my identical twin and financial partner in crime on this project) we have decided to just go rotated. It makes more sense, I am going to talk to Terry tomorrow and see if they have a kit that will fit my 09 WRX, I guess il have to change my bov now too as its currently recirculating.
Now I dont know masses about the different rotated style turbos, I here of the 35R all the time. Power goals are a solid 400whp, the car is a street car but will see some drag action occasionally.
Ugh oh lol I feel a bigger build coming on muahahaha

Yeah im not a fan of the external wastegate sound, it would have to be recirc like on the P&L systems. As for header choice i really dont know, I am still mad at having to spend all this money on the pos fs header having it welded to now not being able to use it anyway.
I guess we will see how it goes over the next few months with part choices etc. Il have another chat with Terry today and see what we come up with. If installing the rotated kit is not too hard then il do it and take the car to p&l. I have a truck and flatbed so shipping wouldnt be hard. However I would like to have them break it in on the dyno for me to ensure its done right.
Yeah I truly appreciate the expression you get what you pay for now. That's why were going down the right route this time I'm sure P&L will do it right, after another long and sometimes off topic chat (mainly my fault haha) with Terry I think we have worked out the plan for the car.
1: Remove the current longblock from the car, strip off all unnecessary accessories and ship it to P&L.
2. P&L will then assess the condition of the block and perform a full rebuild. This will include either new rings, pistons or whatever is needed to get it mint. A refresh, valve job and deck of the heads. Assembly with all new timing kit components and arp headstuds.
3. Purchase a P&L rotated kit, on Terry's recommendation we will be going with the GT30R kit using a 3076 with the .82 hot side. The idea is to keep the car streetable with quick spool but still allow for a decent powerband on those highway pulls. As all kits are custom made to order so once that is completed the next step...
4. Trailer the car to P&L and have them install the longblock and turbokit. They will also do the break in and set up a tune time with junior.
5. Collect the car and try not to giggle too much on the way home haha
Goals are 400whp, so we will see how we do. This is going to take months to complete, mean a massive amount of overtime and sacrifice but it's worth it for sure.
